Earlier, I sent a text message to my friend, when I chose to insert contact, I was able to press the number 6 key twice and it took me to my entries starting with N. I must have done something as now when I try it, it just highlights ALL contacts with the letter N in the name (which is most of them). What I mean is, if I press the number 6 button twice, instead of taking me to contacts starting with N, it will highlight the letter N in any of my contacts containing that letter. I don't think I am explaining this very well. I can't figure out how to get it back to the way it was so wondered if somebody might be able to help me? Guest Confused Stu Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 Not sure how it worked first time out, but searching the contacts list is by predictive entry. It's easier to try it than to explain it. If you were looking for someone called STU (for example), you'd press the S key ONCE, then the T key once, then the U key once. The phone will highlight all the people with first or last names that start with the keypresses you did. This is the same way predictive (or T9) text works. The contacts list is really confusing first three times you use it. Then it'll just click and you'll suddenly think it's the best idea since sliced bread - and won't be able to navigate the phone book on anyone elses phones afterwards! ;) Good luck, and I hope the above makes sense. Best advise is to try it to see what I mean.

Ok, your first bit of advice has helped a little BUT.... here goes to try and explain cos I don't know how to do a screen capture! lol! I have a contact called Nev, I tried the predictive way you suggested and got the following News (with the Ne highlighted) Voice media (with the me highlighted) Callback off (with of highlighted) Nev (with Ne highlighted) Rent Officer (with Of highlighted) Is this what I should be seeing? I would have thought it would have only showed names actually begining with Ne? Bit confusing! Lol! Alison
