It's not clear how to answer you directly, since you haven't specifically said what it is you are trying to convert (i.e. What media format are you starting with). In any case, here is a link to instructions that say how to convert from DVD to WMV for use on the smartphone. Maybe this will help you out.

Sorry to be so vague on format, these are just clips I took on the MPX220 and would like to put on my computer to play from there. “Video stuff” is new to me and I hadn’t realised how varied the file formats are. The ones I have all show (on PC) as a Windows Media form because I tried to open them with Media Player and ticked the “always use this program for this type of file” box! I notice from Aulcardh’s post that they “should” be in 3gp format.

Thanks for link – I’ll check it out.

OK, now I think I understand what you are asking, and it's the opposite of what I originally thought (I'm feeling rather foolish now as I reread your original post). You recorded some videos with the phone and you want to play them on your computer. To be honest, I had never tried using the Video recorder before now, so I just made a short clip to see what it did. OK, the phone's Video Recorder saves them as .3GP files which are located on the phone in either "\Storage\My Documents\My Videos" or in "\Storage Card\My Documents\My Videos". As for how to play them on your PC, I think that either Real Player or Quicktime player can play 3GP files. You should be able to copy them onto your PC via Active Sync and then play them on the PC. I'll test this out this weekend.
