Guest brykins Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 Okay - I am pretty good with technical stuff - I run a web site design business and support local companies on their computer systems - but I can't get my head around the memory allocation on my SVC-C500. Using Resco and looking at the system information, I see: Total Memory: 23.1MB Programs: 21.6MB (Used 12.95MB) RAM Storage: 1.5MB (Used 0.53MB) IPSM (Flash) 28MB (Used 6.31MB) Storage Card: 243.9MB Now...I know what the storage card is but can anyone explain what the others are? When I install software I get the option to install to the phone or to the storage card - I will be installing games to the storage card and useful apps to the phone, but where do they go to? Where are my databases stored (ie, contacts, diary, etc?). Any help would be great, or a pointer to an article.
Guest squall Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 IPSM - flash is the area in phone memory where the rom is stored, as read only. If you hard reset this is loaded Ram storage is phone memory being used to store things such as homescreens & ringtones Program memory should be everything else. as the allocation is dynamic if you add another ringtone the ram storage goes up and this goes down. hope that helps you
Guest zeeyen Posted May 1, 2005 Report Posted May 1, 2005 Are we able to change the RAM Memory area to a bigger size?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 1, 2005 Report Posted May 1, 2005 Nope With regard to the first post C500 should not list IPSM :? I peronally use Task Manager from www.binarys.com as it's easier to understand ;) Moved to Help and Advice
