I've been told this Orange C500 is a bit of a legend for being the first proper good small windows smartphone:

I'm sure i saw it on Orange for only £140-150 on PAYG just the other month, cant find it anymore. I like it, but i've been told the rocker is not great.

Then there's the new SP3i:

Which i like since it has the joystick that is better than the rocker. But I'm not going to pay an extra £100 just for a joystick. Is £265 the cheapest for the SP3i?

And where can i find the C500 not on contract?

Thanks, a couple mroe questions:

Where do i get a good 2.5mm - 3.5mm headphone adapter? That is a decent price

Also, i read the phone ships with Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, since its nearly halfway through 2005, is there a newer OS to upgrade to?

Also, unlocking, how much is it, how/where do i do it, and will it get rid of the orange crap?

Thanks

Check out the modaco shop for both the phone and headset adapter ;)

The new windows mobile is on its way (Codename Magneto i think) but as far as i know 2003 is the most up to date OS. There is an specific update for the C500 on its way from orange at the moment tho.

It you search Modocao for unlocking your C500 you will find all the details you need

If you can wait a few weeks you should be able to pick C500s up much cheaper when the C550 comes out (or you might want the C550 for yourself)
