Hi all,

Bit of a newbie question, but I now have an M2000, and wanted to set up the Wifi on it. I have blueyonder broadband at home but not the wifi version.

Questions,

can I just use a hotspot (when I find one) to connect to the internet for free or do I have to use my blueyonder settings to be able to connect.

And then how do I do this?

If hotspot is free, yes you can. The only setting you might need to change is the outgoing email server in your mail. Though every hotspot is different, so some might need special settings. They'll tell you at the hotspot I'm sure.

Just turn wireless on. It should go looking for one and tell you when it's found it.

So which blueyonder settings do I need to enter into my M2000?

? You lost me there. The only blue yonder setting you might need is the email server if you want to set up mail. I'd recommend using gmail instead though instead of your ISP mail, otherwise you only get the message on the first device that downloads it.

as fraser mentioned its just the incoming mail server details that are needed, as the outgoing mail server details would be those of the hotspots ISP.

If you want to send mail, you'll need to a) use Gmail (recommended), ;) switch to the hostpot's ISP (annoying) or c) find another mail server that lets you send from someones network.

Gmail is the way forward for most folk.
