Guest Paraklas Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 I've read many posts on other web sites (i.e. howardforums) on how some people managed to put the 1.25 version on their phone. Some others posted info about 1.32 and 1.33 firmwares as well which supposely make a HUGE difference in the sound issue and mini sd card compatibility and they are by far superior compared to the Cingular 1.30 (1.030). Someone here also placed a post that Motorola is planning for a new firmware release these days. Can someone confirm, what are the plans for the new firmware? What shall we expect from motorola and/or cingular? Cheers!

I'm hoping that sucker gets released soon so I can finally live with this phone.
Guest laskuh Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 who knows! there are issues with 1.25 that i dont have with 1.03 - bluetooth autoanswering, 2-sec delay when answering phone before the other side can hear you. it seems like, in getting some things right, theyll manage to just screw up a few and make new problems at the same time. so im sure theyll fix the volume or something amazing. but then our 5 keys will always type 9's or something absurd ;)

Guest Jamma14 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Nice thats good news I even emailed motorola about a firmware update and they didnt tell me just gave me a load of bs that was nothing to do with the question. Crap customer service : $
Guest Seth Cold Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 1.33 is the latest Chinese rom, 1.28 is the latest European... i got 1.25 unbranded and for me it's better than 1.03 cingular rom. i'm expecting someone releases 1.28! to try it
Guest Paraklas Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 What will the cingular release be? 1.033? cingular and motorola are working to get a new firmware update out soon. i know this because i work for cingular. as of last week they were waiting for motorola to finish the firmware so they can flash all the phones they pulled off the shelves. You are talking about a generic firmware or a cingular specific - although I really don't mind as long as they fix the #@$%$#^#@ sound issue. I'm on 1.03 from Cingular. i'm expecting someone releases 1.28! to try it I'll try it!!! ;):):D

Guest Paraklas Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 i got 1.25 unbranded and for me it's better than 1.03 cingular rom. I assume 1.25 is NOT 1.025 and is later than 1.03. Where did you find that? ;):);)

Where did you find that? ;):);) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you are correct, grasshoppa. 1.25 is later. though it does come with that pesky answer-delay issue. darnit. and... er... what did you mean by where did you find that? as in... where can 'you' get it?

What's the reasoning behind delaying the release of the firmware to the public for download? I'm at wits end with this phone... can't hear anything. Hope this firmware will be released soon. There was a previous thread stating it would be released a week or so back, that got me to buy the phone wish I hadn't.

There was a previous thread stating it would be released a week or so back, that got me to buy the phone wish I hadn't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> dont cont on it this month. ive heard that itll be available at the end of may. as for the phone. its a good phone. you just have to find a firmware version thatll make you happy (or splice together bits and pieces from a few). i love the phone - even without a new firmware. though itll be wonderful if they can fix some of the problems with it soon ;) also, a bluetooth headset will correct volume issues - you dont have to deal with the speaker at all. if youre a cingular customer, head over to hofo or pm me and ill give you the details. you might not have to pay for a headset.
Guest Paraklas Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 and... er... what did you mean by where did you find that? as in... where can 'you' get it? Yep, where can I get the latest EU firmware? Although I don't have any sound issues - in fact I keep the volume to 50% cause it's too loud for my ears - I would prefer the EU firmware to provide me with a generic settings-free mobile.

Guest Paraklas Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Seems we all just have to wait for the official release by motorola... WHEN moto? WHEN ????
Guest rakadjiev Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Hi, I have an AT&T Wireless MPx220 with 0.343 FW. I sent a mail to Motorola to ask them if there is or will be an update for AT&T phones and they said that it is not likely. So if a new upgrade will come out soon, then it'll be only for Cingular devices:(
Guest Paraklas Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Don't worry about that cause we found a way to trick motorola update server to think that you have a cingular phone instead of an AT&T and update it succesfully. The only thing that remains is the actual firmware.

Guest rakadjiev Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 Good to hear that:) Can anyone of you send me this xml file, with which I can later trick the updater? (I think that it was deleted from the forum and I din't download it before that). Thanks in advance!
Guest laskuh Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Good to hear that:) Can anyone of you send me this xml file, with which I can later trick the updater? (I think that it was deleted from the forum and I din't download it before that). Thanks in advance! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i dont think youll need it. the other updater allows anyone to update their phone as long as you have the rom downloaded - which will be available shortly after it becomes avail on the moto website. ;)
Guest ljames28 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 What's better, 1.280.0.0 EU rom or the generic 1.25 rom?
Guest laskuh Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 1.25 ROM ROCKS!!! ;) ;) :P <{POST_SNAPBACK}> haha, parak... i thought you tried this a long time ago? perhaps im mistaken!
Guest Paraklas Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 I was trying to put to a Cingular firmware on an AT&T phone by tricking the updater using a cingular generated systeminfo.xml. This was for the online update. Of course, nothing compares to 1.25 ROM and the offline process is SO much easier than online (Took me less than 10 minutes)
