Hi,

Firstly, I'm not completely sure if this is the correct forum to post in so if not, I appologise and ask a moderator to kindly move it to the correct forum! ;)

I have recently been looking at these two phones and just can't decide on which one to get so I was hoping for some advice.

There are pros and cons for each which I can't decide on. I love the Wifi of the XDA IIi but love the size of the Mini.

Here are my main requirements:

*Wifi

*Bluetooth

*Smallish (easy to carry around everywhere I go - but still with PDA functionality)

*Touch screen

*Able to watch videos

*Able to listen to music

*Able to take photos (not excellent ones - just ones for keeping memories of those happy times when my camera isn't available)

Those are my main requirements.

I was thinking more towards the Mini but wasn't sure. The reason I say this is because I need lots of space (on an SD card) to store music etc, but with the Mini not having wifi, I'd need to get a seperate SD wifi card. Does the mini have room for 2 cards or would i just have to have either wifi and no space or no wifi and lots of space.

I like the features of the XDA IIi but the only drawback for me is the size - it seems slightly big for everyday fun and work use.

Does anyone have any rough price guidance for these - I'd prefer sim free or unlocked versions so I can use them with my orange sim card - but if that's not possible, I would go on contract (not more than £20 per month)

Are there any other phones you would recommend aswell as these 2?

I used to have a P800 which I loved (but i prefer the Windows OS) and now I have the C500. I feel that the C500 doesn't currently provide me with everything I want it to. I really need a touch screen more PDA influenced device but with the size and strength of the C500! :D

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers,

Pete Appleyard

I have the Mini with an SD Wifi and two 1Gb cards. I don't need my 1Gb card when using the WiFi, so it not an issue for me. The case I have for my mini lets me carry the wifi card and extra 1Gb SD with me all the time, in a smaller package than the IIi.

I do all the things in your list, and the Mini is definately up to the task. It is a much nicer "phone" because of its small size. Much better if you don't use a headset and hold it to your ear.

Also, I don't think the IIi looks as good!! ;)

Cool, thanks for your help.

Do you know off the top of your head whether there is any card that allows you to use wifi AND a SD storage card too?

I am sort of leaning towards the mini now!

Cheers again ;)

Ok, well I've read up loads of reviews etc on it and it seems to be exactly what I want if I buy a wifi card for it.

You know what's coming next...I was wondering if anyone could tell me the type of price I would be looking at for this.

I would prefer sim free (unlocked) cause then I can use my orange pay as you go sim card in it but otherwise, only O2, Orange and Vodaphone are available where I live if I was going to go for it on contract.

Where have other people got this little beauty from? I have seen it ebay going for around £300 sim free - is this reasonable?

Thank for your help.

Pete ;)

I got mine for AU$945 off eBay. Brand new, not second hand or refurb. Got my standard WiFi card from a BRick and Mortar store for AU$130.
