Guest TOPGUN1988 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 !!HELP!! I recently got an Motorola MPx200 2002 Smartphone and started downloadin games and programs. all downloads contain *.xml files that are suposed to be some kind of executable setup but neither my pc nor my MPx200 can execute. is there a special directory in which i need to copy the file in my phone to execute it? :?: detailed instructions on how to install the *.xml files on a motorola MPx200 would be really helpful thanx! ;)
Guest Confused Stu Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Welcome to the forum, my friend! ;) On the Smartphone range, most .xml files are used for setting up homescreens (the code literally means put this bit there, that bit here, and so on). If they're for home screen's you'll need to put them in IPSM/Application Data/Home Then you should be able to select that homescreen in the settings/home menu. If you've got an .xml file that's meant to do something else, post it as an attachment on here and we'll see if we can sort out what is it! If it might be a copyrighted thing, then post a link to where it came from and then we can have a look from there. Good luck playing with the phone. And if you haven't got Betaplayer and SmartExplorer yet - get them! I don't think I could cope without these two these days. :D
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Do not extract contents of the CAB file on your PC. Copy the cab file to \Storage\windows\Start Menu\Accessories , open Accessories folder on your phone then finally click on the CAB file to install the app. When CAB files are extracted on the PC, you'll see setup xml and files with number extensions (example: xxxx.001)
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Click on the 'First 48 Hours' link in my sig for instructions on installing all the various file-types ;)
