Tmobile UK Vs. Tmobile USA Sim Lock?

I was wondering if anyone here knows if the sims work for phones from the other country. Basically i wanna buy a tmobile UK I-mate Jam. But i wanna use it in the US on Tmobile. Does anyone know if i can do this? or would i have to get it unlocked? Tmobile USA is really cool about unlocking any phone they carry, but since this isnt acutally one of their phones, they cant do anything about it. Does Tmobile UK typically unlock phones for free as well?

As with most UK networks they will charge to unlock the compact for you. Not sure of the policy with t-mobile however o2 normally makes you payoff you contract on their xda series, so its my assumption that the same may happen with t-mobile.

Your best bet is to pay £20 and get it unlocked by Imei Check
