Setting up my WI-FI?

Hi. can anyone tell me how to set this thing up, its really doing my head in! Im no network guru! Im connecting to my WL router with wep on..is there any 3rd party software to help connect and set up?? and when its up and running how do I browse the shared folders on my PC with it?? please help! ;)
