Guest dief00 Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 (edited) i don't know if anyone here managed to get the web unlocking working, if they did please delete this thread. THIS ONLY REMOVES APPLICATION LOCK here's how i managed: First of all you all know the unlocking site http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdef.aspx i entered all my info, it says i will get an unlocking mesage but i didn't so i began asking arround here's what you can do: 1.enter a WRONG imei ...you will get a message that says that the imei in wrong and they suggest you donwload an application that registers your imei in theyr data base..you can do this either by wap (you recive a sms from them with a link to download), or onto the PC folowing the install instructions. Tha application "Orange Register" is installed and the phone can be locked/unlocked at any time 2. send an e-mail message to [email protected] informing them of your problem and if you provide all the info in the web form in the mail (name, number, imei) they will send a piece of software designed specifically for your imei, and that should fix the problem (they answered verry fast) I have attached a Security Level Setting application targeted specifically for your phone with IMEI 353313002128***** Please unzip this application, connect your phone to your PC, and run the application on your PC. It should install a "Security Level" application on your phone's Start menu. Run the Security Level application, select the desired security level, and press Action. This should set the security level on your device, allowing you to run applications on the device. I personally tested only the first method but i guess both work I've attatched the file for the first method (it's a CAB, to be installed directly on the phone) If this information was already known and this thread is junk please excuse me..it's my first postActionRegister_1_.ARM.cab Edited April 27, 2005 by dief00

Any application signed by Orange with enought privilege to write the registry can do it. The following image shows what keys need to be modified on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies that all guys, no more misteries about it.
Guest squall Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Ctitanic I have doubts over editing the registery to appliction unlock. Me and pzee have been looking into it tonight and it does not seem to work, unless the phone has previously been unlocked. I believe theres a security key somewhere which allows changes in the reg regarding app lock to be recognise. I would test it with tweaks2k2 but I lost it after hard resetting, and recently lost my pm with the link from the compo I won :S I hope im wrong as i currently cant app unlock with the ota site down

I have tested the same trick with other phones where the grade of application lock is not so high and I have been able to unlock the key completely using the registry. About your key send me a PM with your owner name from the phone and i´ll give you the key again for Tweaks2k2.
