Guest deadpickle Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 (edited) I have an audiovox SMT5600. I just got insurance through cingular. Anyways i just recently took my phone out of its krusell case to wipe it off and noticed taht there is a crack in the screen. I hardly noticed it with the case on. I posted pictures but its a little hard to see so i circled it. You can see it very well when the phone is off or when there is a dark color in that region. You can definitly feel it when the run your fingernail over it. I can get the phone replaced for 50 bucks i think and it will take one or two days. Im kind of torn whether or not to send it in and file a claim. I guess i was wonder what you all think i should do. Edited April 27, 2005 by deadpickle

Guest smt_5600er Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I would get a new one. $50 is nothing compared to the full price for this phone. btw, is your phone's screen is getting dusty also? i wish i had any sort of warranty on my phone but i bought it from a friend. :\
Guest deadpickle Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 actually yes it is. you can kind of see it in the photos. no matter how much i try to clean it off there are spots that remain. I did some reading on this forum and i think its that dust under the screen thing. oh well. Actually i bought the insurance on the phone about a month ago and I was looking at the policy on the cingular webpage. I found out that I cant get the phone replaced for another 30 days, or i will have to pay full price. as long as the crack does not interfer with the functionallity of the phone i think i can wait.
