Guest Lynswin Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I have recently got an SPV E200 and I am having some real problems getting to grips with it. I have searched this site and found many useful things but nothing that conclusively answers a couple of questions, so here they are: First major problem is installing themes - I would like in particular to install the icandy themes but when I unzip the file to my pc I have loads of files which I don't know where to put on my smartphone or what to do with them when they are there!! I got as far as finding out where to put the cab file but when I run it, it seems to start installing but then I get the message 'installation failed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate'. I am assuming that this is the 'software unlock' thing but I have emailed Orange to ask for them t unlock it - no reply- then I read that the spv e200 is already unlocked anyway!! Arrgggghhh!! So, firstly if anyone can help with the unlock issue (if it is an issue), I would be grateful, then if anyone can tell me how I get these themes on my phone and how to use them when they are there I would be grateful for that too!! Finally, is it possible to install animated screensavers on the spv e200? If so, again, how do I install these and activate them when they are on my phone? Please help - I am really frustrated with this!!! LOL! many thanks Lynswin
Guest James Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 To software unlock your phone, try here:- http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdef.aspx To use animated home screens you need a Plug-in.. see here:- 'http://www.madbeetle.com/homescreen.html' hope this helps ;)
Guest Lynswin Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Hi James Many thanks for that. I have already been on the Orange site and submitted my request 2 days ago!! Am I just being impatient or should I try doing this again? Thanks for the link for the animated home screens but when I clicked through it says the plug in is no longer available (or something like that)!!! ](*,) I am not having a good day!! LOL!
Guest James Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 humm... it should work! i know some people are having problems.. there are a few things you can try. 1. try to establish a GPRS connection before you try it. 2. try your number with +44 and without. 3. try an active sync connection with internet pass-through set up. Yes, thats cortrect, the animation plug-in is no longer about. but it should come back soon!
Guest hanniballecter Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Anyone, I've tried the unlocking programmes around on the net, the one I had most success with was SPVUNLOCK2C. Everything works according to the instructions, BUT at the end of the process (after receiving the numeric code), I am not prompted to input the code!!!! Instead, the phone just starts as usual. Could anyone explain what I'm doing wrong????? Many thanks.
Guest Lynswin Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I finally managed to get the phone unlocked - I went to the url using my phone instead of my pc and did it that way - it worked! Many thanks for your help - it is greatly appreciated best wishes ;)

Just to explain, we are not talking about network unlocking but application unlocking.
