Guest dumbphone Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005  Cingular and Rogers both now have available the audiovox SMT5600. Anyone have a chance to see what the firmware is like? My question, if it was possible to flash the cingular rom to my ATT branded SMT, could I use a cingular sim? Question 2: Do you think now that cingular carries this model, they'd be willing to provide unlock to ATT users looking to migrate? Question 3: same 2 questions, but with rogers Seems like it would be a logical solution--but I may be nuts! SPVdevelopers.com seems to be pretty inactive lately, so this seems like a good place to ask.

Guest David_B Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 It was sooo tempting to pay to unlock the ATT 5600, but once I heard Cingular was working on approving it, I waited hoping they will unlock our phones for free! Has cingular done this with any other ATT phones? Cingular and Rogers both now have available the audiovox SMT5600. Anyone have a chance to see what the firmware is like?
