Guest Imacellphone Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I was wondering how many people don't even have a landline anymore? With Cell Phones, Skype, and VoIP alone the landline seems to be on its way out. I mean I have my cell and then SunRocket VoIP (in the states) which is 25% of a landline bill and have had no problems. I didn't even notice until someone pointed out that I didn't even have a landline. I was like, "Yeah...hmm...cool" Anyone else totally ditch the landline for things like VoIP and/or cell phone?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 Not had a landline since i moved into my house in September. Mobile phone all the way...
Guest pisquee Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 Only have the landline for broadband internet access - if i had a wireless connection wifi/gprs/3g/edge whatever technology that could give me reliable access the same as landline broadband adsl, and at the same price, then i would obviously go for it! Maybe i should buy a house next to a hotspot - preferably an open and free one!
Guest AngelOfRage Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 i didn't when living on me own, but know im back with my mum i realise how pointless a land line is, when i get anothe rplace of my own, i wont be having a landline. Skype and Mobile all the way for me!

I found some of those at my bro's temporary housing while he moves, was a life saver. The thing is with me is that I use the Cell Phone so much that I don't really need a landline, but my landlord requested one for the alarm system. Dang it. So I started looking in and VoIP is crazy cheap ($16.58 for SunRocket) and though it was close to basic telephone prices I could also get long distance and a whol ebunch of other goodies. So worked out. Anyone go without landline with a family?
