Broken C500 + Orange - HELP!

The rocker has gone all dodgy on my SPV C500. (Only the right navigation works properly now) It's been sticking for a while, but now stopped working.

Dilema is that Orange say the following options are:

£300 for Replacement

or

£100 for Emergency Replacement + £5 a month for Orange Care for the next 12 Months.

or

Send the handset back to HTC - at my expense!

After spending a day trying to get through to HTC, finally managed it - to be told it'd be about a 10 day turn around.

My issue is that, its faulty - and am I'm paying for a service etc... that I can't currently use 100%. The other problem is i'm going away on Monday, and I need a working handset.

Help?? Ideas??

Worst thing is, on page (149 - i think) in the Orange Manual, T+C 7.1 - it states that Orange will Repair or replace the handset (at it's option) etc .......

Look forward to the replies!

Simon

How long have you had it? I think the C500 comes with a 12 month warranty, the first 6 months of which are dealt with Orange, the second 6 months by HTC.. i'm not sure about that though.

Also £300 for a replacement is insane, you can get a PAYG C500 for £140
