Guest Pennan Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Information about the new Qtek 8100 is now available on the Swedish Qtek web site. It looks like the phone is based on the HTC Amadeus phone. See this page for more information in Swedish. The specifications page is in English.
Guest Pondrew Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Good spot. It's the SDA Music (aka HTC Amadeus) alright. Right down to the VGA camera (so not as good spec as the Dopod people are talking about with it's 1.3meg camera).
Guest BennyBoy Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 Did anybody else notice that it states on the english specification page that with a furure upgrade, i.e. rom upgrade, that the display will get bumped up to QVGA resoloution? Me thinks this phone will be getting Windows Mobile 5 (Magneto) some time in the future!!! ;)
Guest squall Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 a software update to change the screen res? squalls eyes go fussy
Guest mskovrinskie Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 Can the HTC Amadeus phones do EDGE for data transfer? I love the Typhoon platform, but wish it could leverage faster GPRS data w/ EDGE.
Guest Magnetic_dud Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 It's look like the Dopod 585... Maybe the 585 have an interpolated VGA camera. I think the hardware it's the same, like with the C500/SP3i/audiovox/etc...
Guest madds Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 (edited) hi all just found this pics at a secret location on the qtek.se page (at least for me that can't read swedish! ;) ) Edited May 2, 2005 by madds
Guest madds Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 regarding a upgrade to allow qvga resolution it's possible! Remmenber when toshiba launched the e800 series pocket pc? They only worked with qvga resolution and with the launch of the windows mobile second edition it allowed the device to use real vga! The same may happen!
Guest Mehka Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 haha the future upgrade suggestion dissapeared ;)
Guest victor8080 Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 This is the first smartphone which supports Russian language right out of the box! Unfortunatelly one can't type Russian letters (great work MS)!? But here Paragon comes to the rescue with their Interkey which also has Russian T9.
