How much memory?

Hi all, I'm still new to the c500 and modaco so hope I am posting in the right place with my question.

I was hoping to buy myself a 1gb mini sd card for my phone but everywhere I look, they are out of stock. I rang one company who have been waiting ages for theirs to come in and they said that sandisk don't even have any themselves at the moment.

So, I was thinking maybe get a smaller card for the time being until the gb ones are more readily available.

However, I am not sure what capacity to go for. I dont' want to spend too much as I know that as soon as I can get the gb card, the smaller one will be redundant so was thinking maybe getting a 128mb for the time being. I assume this will be big enough to have some music and/or some apps/games to keep me going. I can always take some off it if I want more of something else I guess.

I would wait for the larger card but that could be a while and I am likely to get frustrated if I want more on the phone and only have the standard 16mb card that came with it.

Firstly I was wondering if anybody knows of anywhere I can get the 1gb cards from right now and secondly, is the 128mb worth buying to tide me over do you think?

Hi Alison,

You can try >HERE< they are expecting stock in by Thursday 5th May.

I have orderd loads of cards from here for my mates and myself. If you want a card to see you right untill you get the GB card then I would recomend at least a 256mb as you can at least get 1 film on it to show ya phone off ;)

Given that whole CDs can be larger than 100mb I'd be inclined to go for 256 too.

It depends what you want to do. MobyMemory seem to be the only people that have had any 1Gb cards, lots of other places advertise them cheaper but have NEVER had them in stock and don't know when they are going to. If you are willing to pay the price then buy a 1Gb from Moby on Thurs, otherwise you could be waiting a very long time so probably best buying what you can afford. 128 is enough for a few things but bigger is better.

Thanks for the feedback, I did wonder if 128 might not be enough. I think I will see if mobymemory get them in on the due date, if not, will buy a larger card than 128.

I use a 1gb for my pocket pc & a 256mb for the SMT 5600.. and a 128 on the side just in case lol..

guys for the smarthpone u realy dont need more than 128, heck.. 256 is more than enough.. appz r like 1mb, ... and u dont need ur music collection with u, headphones suck for music, u should use ur pocket pc or ipod, but its ok I guess.. I duno guys u dont want to much redundencies.. man I wish the MPX was better, lighter, better keyboard, less bulky.. then u can use that as pocket pc & phone and that would have been amaaazing!!!!! all in 1 deveice, of course the mpx woudl have GPS & all bells & whistles ;) :exclaim:
