Headphone ICON someone PLZ Explain!

On many screen shots I see theres a headphone icon, but for me it NEVER appears, even when I'm in a call etc (and minimized) with the headphones plugged in etc.. I'm using the SMT 5600 not the UK SPV C500... but shouldn't it be the same.. Also its the same with the "1" icon at the top of the taskbar, I dont never see that either, I made another post but I'm just mentioning it here again, can someone plz explain etc
