c500 uk rom update

Just to ask if anyone knows whether or not orange uk will be releasing a c500 rom update any time? WM 10 would be nice, and I also read that another update took care of the bad quality of wm9 when you play music (the sound really isn't nice on mine, not enough bass it seams). I can hold out for an update, otherwise looking into later getting the sp3i or imate jam (don't know which is best)...though I am partial to the spv range os, and functions. Also read a rumor on the future c600 but from what I saw, it's more of a mini laptop phone than a phone. I do love the c500 but think a joystick might be a plus...most definately a better media player would be nice too, oh, and a qvga screen... ;)

Hi, thanks for that, but I can't find it...the last I read, Paul stated he had heard from orange that they would be releasing a uk update for uk made phones, but didn't know when. I was reading where you could not downgrade the rom though unless the phoe was unlocked via IMEI check...however, others stated that they did downgrade after being unlocked by orange...Is it possible to have the phone decertified, as well as application unlocked in addition to sim unlock???

I completely agree...and yes, We can ALL hope. Thing is...I'm not even on orange...but o2 just isn't cutting it with their phones..so I've chosen to buy the orange phones and save myself a lot of grief...plus once you've gone to a smartphone, few ever go back to the "other" phones. If they can't sort out an update for the c500 I'll be looking at the future c550, c600 (not sure about that one) or the imate sp3i. Though I like the looks of the c500 nice, elegant, and the navigational bar doesn't bother me. I have to admit I'd like to have a qvga screen though...Even the dopod 585 looks nice but couldn't bother getting around the chinese text (I only know English :mrgreen:)

i have c500 as of now, and the uk rom update is coming(fingers crossed). if the c550 is not much if a change from c500, i would stick to c500.

i mean dopod 585, c550 is nice looking, but being practical (coz i'm not that rich) i won't get one of those. i'll just wait for the uk rom update for c500, i think my c500 can match the performance of dopod 585 and c550(except for just better screen and some buttons). but being wise, i think i would get a new phone that will have some new features aside from what my phone can do.

the thing with windows mobile phones manufacturers are beginning to be like nokia. they've just added a little tiny bits on a phone and that's it. they are going to sell it in the market. i mean what the **** they are thinking. windows mobile phone users are smart, they are expecting so much on their next upgrade but what do they get a lousy screen and camera. that's sounds so much like the marketing strategy of nokia before and still. come on guys, you can do better than that, that is why it is called a smartphone coz the users are smart. that's why we choose this kind of phone coz we can differ and rise above the others(in terms of the phones only ;) ). and this is what we got.

i'm not a hater but just saying it's just not right.

Hey there....I just came on and saw it.... :mrgreen: will be glad when it finally comes out...then to figure out how to put mp3 files and videos onto it...(I've played with it a little but not that much...not unlocked yet. I've looked for the place to put them while in active sync, but can't find a folder...unless it would be the storage card folder... :?:

Right. It's the 9th. Any sign of this update? I've been lookin around the Orange site. In the Help & Support section for the C500 n all, but no luck so far. Paul m8, you seen any sign of this update?
