Guest GMSMGL Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 Hi folks, does anybody know something about a "reminder tool" or anything like this in this big world of smartphone tuning which i'm exploring for several days now? What I miss at my new MPX220 is a signal which reminds me in an interval after that something has happened, a missed call, mail that has to be read or calendar or task events which are not confirmed. Does Papyrus do this for calender and task events? That you can't configure this was the main reason i stopped working with outlook on the computer years ago and i was surprised to see now, that outlook hasn't changed a lot in the last 7 years, all the things i don't liked are still in it. But you can't have everything, i'm very satisfied with the mpx 220 so far. Best regards
Guest argh Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 Umm... I thought Outlook has pretty much always supported reminders for tasks and calendar events? It pops up a reminder box on the PC at the time you specify and you can tell it to remind you again at a later date. Papyrus will happily create and synchronise with such reminders too, although I think the Smartphone OS actually provides the reminder. As far as I can see, the reminder screen doesn't support rescheduling reminders - I only seem to get the option to dismiss it, or I can go back to the homescreen and it will remind me again in a short time.
Guest GMSMGL Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Yes, the reminder box appears with a sound and that was it. If you have not noticed it and the screensaver is on nothing remembers you that this box is open and waiting for you. The same at the mobile: an event set at 10:00 and configured to remind you maybe 15 minutes before will remind you that 15 min before (configured in the profile with "play sound" there is only a one time signal, configured with "increasing sound" there are several signals within this 15 min) but after 10:00 there will be nothing. So if you don't look on the phone regularly you (or I) will forget it. The same with missed calls and messages that are not noticed. I think too it's a OS thing but maybe a little program in the start up directory can fix this. My old Moto V 600 (and other Motorola devices) had the alarm i'm looking for, every 5 min there was a signal saying to you: look on your phone, something has happened.
