As you know, we've already featured 'Eclipse' in our 'Game of the Week' (Click Here if you missed it), today we cover one of it's rivals, a game that is also an excellent title, 'SkyForce' from Infinite Dreams.

We've tracked down Marek from Infinite Dreams, and we've asked him to answer our usual questions ;)

Hi Marek and thanks for speaking to MoDaCo! Please introduce yourself!

Hi! My name is Marek Wyszynski and I'm a coder and cofounder of Infinite Dreams.

Describe SkyForce in your own words

SkyForce is a classic shoot-em up game. It's a compilation of many classic games of this genre and it seems to be successful! ;)

What makes SkyForce worth buying above other Smartphone games?

Well, I think the overall quality makes it worth buying. At Infinite Dreams we have a rule that we do not release the game if we are not perfectly happy with it. Because of that the development process takes quite a long time but at the end it pays off because our games seems to be very popular.

We try to push the limits of each platform to the maximum. Thats why we optimize critical loops in pure ARM assembly. Thanks to that we can have a lot of blended sprites, polygons, particles, high quality music engine etc. I believe that overall quality is achived by paying attention to those tiny little details. Also we are hardcore gamers ourselves which I think is quite important. We simply create games that we love to play! :P

What can we expect to see next from Infinite Dreams?

As you know we've already released our second game for MS Smartphones: "ExplodeArena".Unfortunately in this version we needed to remove multiplayer mode, which was one of the most important features of the game. Now we'll try to release an updated version with bluetooth multiplayer mode, which I think will begin the era of multiplayer gaming for MS Smartphones! ;)

Also, we've already released our third game "SuperMiners" for other platforms and now we are in the process of porting it to MS Smartphones. This one also will feature bluetooth multiplayer mode. Keep your fingers crossed! :D

It's a nice game with great graphics and playability but I felt it was a bit short.

Skyforce is a great game. I used to enjoy it a lot on my E100, but now that I got the C500 I can't play it anymore. Reason is the joystick which isn't 8 ways, nor multipress.

Or has someone found a way ?

I think it slows yer phone down (I know it slows my C500 down).

It is only V0.1, so there's hope still.

Anyone know if the new orange C550 joystick will be 5 / 9 way?

Hope it will be 8 way (or 9 ways, whatever) !

Do you guys think Skyforce becomes "playable" with that app? Because the joystick is still a big pain.
