Hi,

If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.

I loaded 2 .jar files onto my smartphone by putting them in My Documents, double-clicking them and then watching them appear in Java Apps. They seemed to install fine.

However nothing happens when I click on them at all in Java Apps. If I then select 'Running', nothing shows as being a running MIDlet.

The apps are Blooover and a game called Kungfu

Any ideas?

Many Java files don't work on the Smartphone. TBH it's not that good.

There is list of working freeware titles in the MoDaCo forum somwhere.

A lot depends on what type of phone you have (actually the JVM that is installed on it). For the MPx220 using the supplied JVM, the only way to get a Java program setup is by using IE on the phone and downloading the JAD file (not JAR) which will then cause the JVM to pull down the JAR file from the website. It's a strange process, but that's the MPx220. Of course it could be completely different if you have a different phone.

Thanks. I forgot to say that I have a C500.

Both apps appear with an orange lightbulb in the 'Java Apps' menu

When I select install it moves me to an 'Install' screen showing both of them the same but with white lightbulbs.

If I click on one of them it asks me whether I want to install that Midlet. I click yes, then yes to re-install and then yes to finish and it takes me back to the orange lightbulb 'Java Apps' window.

However if I go back to the white lighbulb 'Install' screen and instead of clicking on one of them, I highlight one and then press menu>install it says "Error - failed to install the MIDlet" and stays on the white lightbulb 'Install' screen.

Any ideas?
