I am delighted to announce that the winners of our M2000 competition have been chosen!

The lucky recipients of a fantastic M2000 handset courtesy of Orange are...

Nick Mobley aka TigerNet

Yeah, it's very annoying... I mean they haven't contributed anything toward the forum and they won it.

What about the regulars here?

Maybe the next compo should be only available to people with more than 50 posts and has been a member for more than 3 months or so?

I don't think that's going to happen i'm afraid.

Let's look at this as the possibility of 2 members with shiny new devices having the opportunity now to get involved in the community ;)

I can see both sides of that argument.

Hopefully them winning will help them on their way to being more involved around here.

When I won the Compal/Red-E, although I was already fairly active, it did convince me to sign up to plus, as a kind of thank you for me winning.

bah its a competition you didnt pay anything to enter and hopefully it attracted lots more people to sign up to the site which will make it better.

I dont think reular members should have any more of a chance of winning than any other person who takes the time to sign up, you should just be proud of being part of modaco, no other mobile forum gives away prizes as big as this.

Well at least now that I know I haven't won, I'll go out and buy one instead ;)

Congrats to the winners  ;)

Woah! Some failry sour grapes going on there, eh!? ;)

Congrats to the winners, even if they don't post! I agree with mecx, nobody lost anything, nobody paid to enter, so there should be no cause for alarm. Although I do think that there shoudl be a competition soon that restricts entry to members with the letters d,r,b,l,o & w in their names!! ;)

I cannot believe I have won... Feel like a right lucky so & so... Thank you Modaco and Orange.

;) :P ;) :D :D :D :D :D

I check the site at least every couple of days, and have been a regular visitor to the site since i got my E200 14 months ago.

But it's true, I should start posting to the community, it's just a nightmare trying to read a post when your boss keeps looking over your sholder. (good job he's on holiday at the mo)

Yep, this is work honest... ;)

good luck next time nedge2k, now where did I put that lotto ticket!!!

I agree with this statement drblow, although to be completely fair and impartial I think you should add a P to that list of letters ;)

Good - I'm not sure it'd be right to exlclude people who only ever read the forums and not post anything. You *could* try this for the next comp with more than one prize:

If there are two prizes, set one aside for people with less than (eg 100) posts and one prize for those with more than (eg 100).

For three prizes, one for 0-100, one for 100-1000 and one for over 1000.

If the prizes were of different value, then make the most expensive availabe to those with more posts.

If they were the same value, but different prizes then give the winner with more posts the first choice of prize.

Of course...all this would mean the mods having to work double hard to check those that would post JUST to get their numbers up.

...now, do I keep the MPx? Hmmm... ;)

Somehow I doubt the 32meg 200mhz MPX will be able to persuade you to ditch the M2000 (with four times the memory and twice as fast).

Still, let us know...
