Guest Frizzante Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Hi there, despite my JAVA problems I just found out that I have another BIG annoyance with the phone! Apps & Games previousely installed were working, today (after the java-havoc yesterday I used the phone to make calls) I got a negative surprise. Apps like Nethack oder Rick Dangerous, that worked well, didn't start, instead I get the nasty message "Fehler! Zugriff verweigert. Die Anwendung kann nicht ausgeführt werden, da sie keine digitale Signatur eines vertrauten Zertifikats trägt!" That means: applications locked. How ? Why?? The phone is a vanilla Mpx220 without branding by carrier. The apps worked before. I only did 2 things: installed a minisd 256MB & that nasty java app that caused supposedly my java problems! btw. the java app was "Remote Desktop for Mobiles" Platforms: Java (J2ME) Version: 1.2.9 Date: 2005-04-15 Updated: 2005-05-05... Can a phone become locked just by software? Or does it become locked because my carrier "A1 Austria" is not mentioned in some db of the phone (sort of autolocking depending on network carrier?? Help & suggestions appreciated - I thinking about returning the phone after posessing it for only 10 days & switch back to the old SET610 ;( Kind regards
Guest dchester Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 I've seen (and experienced) weird things from my Sandisk 256 mb MiniSD card. I wonder if that could be the root cause of your troubles. It seems that for some of us (but not everyone) the cheaper (I guess slower) MiniSD cards (like Sandisk and Ridata) don't work reliably. Occasionally the phone will not be able to access files on the card, and then depending on what the file or program is, you can get some goofy error that may point you in the wrong direction. When my card is having one of it's spells, it usually takes three tries for it to finally be able to access the files. Often for me, it fails right after rebooting. I've gotten in the habit of going into File Manager after I boot the phone and keep selecting \Storage Card, and then anything else until I see my files under the Storage card. Once the 1 gig cards become more available, I'm going to get one of those, but it won't be a Sandisk. Most people have had good luck with either the PQI or ATP cards. Also, I've heard some people say that with the unbrabded 1.25 firmware, their MiniSD cards work better.

I replaced the minisd card and now it works! thanks!
Guest nikjensie Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 I seriously doubt that that was the problem, I have the same experiences... only I install everything in Storage. It happened recently with Agile Messenger and after a reinstall of AM it worked again... Nik
