Aaaaaahhhhhhh !!!! this thing is driving me crazy! I had the phone unlocked and then i de-certed it with the program from a smartphone cd. I got 6months untroubled use from it and then things started to go wrong.

The first thing was that the phone wouldnt recognise my O2 sim, however that was resolved by switching the phone off then on again. The next thing to go wrong is the fact it decided to re-certify itself. Ive tried various things including my last resort which was a hard reset and then do the de-cert again, but all of this was to no avail. i tried both the guide on MSMmobiles.com and the one from coolsmartphone.com and i also used the two unlocking programs i have. HELP!!!

I can also nolonger use media player for more than 20 minutes, as it decides to suddenly forget it has my SD card in there and stops working.

If ANYONE can get this *DAMN* phone working it would be greatly appereciated as i really do enjoy using my phone.

Sounds like you have more problems than just de-cert'ing

If you can't de-cert your phone via the Orange website a common problem is that you aren't putting the full IMEI number in. Check it on your phone by dialling *#06# (You didn't say what phone you have, or where it came from, but I'm guessing it was on Orange and you unlocked it to use your O2 SIM)

If your phone loses the SD card (is it an SPV E200 you're using?) then it could be a duff SD card, duff SD socket, or very low battery. Have you tried other SD cards?

Its the SPV classic that im using on O2, and i have a 1gb Sandisk SD card. Ive just checked and the card works fine in my computer, so it could be the slot, although i still dont know why it would read for some of the time and not others. The battery certainly isnt the problem, but i have changed to a new battery just to be sure.

The de-certing still isnt working, and im still not sure why. Have checked the IMEI number and that seems to be the right one.

I thought of an idea, but im not sure if it will work. Is it possible to de-cert it on my mums orange card, and then go back to using my one? Will the settings change? Could the rom be causing the problem with de-certing it as i think i read somewhere a while ago, that you arent able to de-cert after you have changed to a newer rom, although i dont see why this would be the case.

Thanks

Jules ;)

Are you get are getting an error 'unable to find IMEI number' ? If so, try downloading the registry application and register you IMEI number on their database. Note you first have to successfully register your IMEI before attempting the unlock.

http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/downloaddef.aspx?

You will also need to have an full internet connection (not WAP connection) to complete the unlock process. If you don't have a GPRS internet APN then you can use the 'pass through' connection. In Data connection make 'Internet connection: Pass through' and this will use the PC's internet connection instead.

I'm not sure why your SD card is having problems and I suppose this could be a faulty unit. You could try hard resetting the phone first. If this doesn't work then format the SD card using SP task manager from www.binarys.co and see if that makes any difference.
