Saving SMS Messages from phone to PC

hi...my phone was starting to become heaps sluggish lately and i noticed the reason was that i never deleted any SMS messages from the last year...1295 messages in INBOX to be exact haha.....anyway i didnt want to lose any of these messages so i started up ActiveSync and tried to Sync the INBOX folder to Outlook and it s*** itself and wont work....it can Sync Contacts (Adress Book) but not the 1295 messages....

So is there any other way to backup these messages? what File on the phone has all the messages in it? cemail.vol?

how can i get them across to my PC in a nice neat way so i can look over them again if need be?

Thanks for any help and ive tried searching the forum for the last 20min and couldnt find anything...

If you are using e100 (Tanager), you can backup your cemail.vol and 're-load' the datase to your device if need be. That way, you will be able to read your old SMS again.

hmm nice program thanks however it shits itself after reading 333 SMS messages....seems limited

is there a direct cemail.vol reader so i could just copy this file from the phone to my PC and read it off there..??
