Guest SkUk21 Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 anyone know how to play .amr files on spv m2000 / spv c500? thanks
Guest argh Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 I think PV player will play them on the C500 (it comes pre-installed)
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 I think PV player will play them on the C500 (it comes pre-installed) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It wont play. Have you tried it? Can you attach a sample amr file which plays on your PV Player.
Guest argh Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 (edited) Ah, sorry, it must only be newer versions of PV Player. I hadn't any AMR files to test with. The packetvideo website says it plays AMR, but then it also says it plays RealAudio (which I knew it didn't play). Sorry again for the mis-information. I don't suppose the new C500 ROM has any chance of having an upgraded PV player? ;) Oh, also, this post by cold_fire seems to indicate that the mp4 video with audio that PV player can play uses AMR audio... I'm not sure if that's correct though. Edited May 8, 2005 by argh
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 ;) My PVPlayer is version 3.3 build 210, comes pre-installed in French ROM 4.2.2.1 Multimedia Album can read MPEG-4/AMR video files (ei video/audio codec) but standalone amr files wont play. I guess if you really like to hear those amr files, you have to convert them to wav format so the phone can play them (using Miksoft AMR Converter or Sony Ericson converter program). Another option is to play the amr files on the PC using Spot xde Player.
Guest argh Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Yes, pity that it won't play straight AMR. The old (hopefully it will be old by the time people read this tomorrow!) UK ROM has 3.3 build 208, btw. Real Player also plays AMR files on the PC.
