Guest Zone-MR Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 (edited) SPV-Developers have just released a new version of TyphoonNbfTools, updated with some exciting new features: Dumping, decrypting, and unwrapping of all sections is fully functional Extracting the splash screen image from a ROM is now possible Support for flash re-write pluginWith the flash re-write plug-in DLL, which can be downloaded here, the tool can be used to re-flash the bootloader. This allows users of the French ROM (which has been known to cause some problems) to downgrade to the any previous ROM version. Furthermore, another plug-in is imminent - with some very interesting features ;) Download: Here [Edit by Paul [MVP]: As always, MoDaCo / SPV-Developers take no responsibility for any damage caused by the use of this tool] Edited May 9, 2005 by Paul [MVP]

Guest pete_thomson Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 HELP!!! what am i doing wrong i put the NBF into the new bootloader, but when i go on emergancy flash, it is dulled out and i cant click on it!!!!! please help <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1) You need the emergency flash add on available here 2) Copy the contents of this package to the same location of your NBFtool v3 3) MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE IS DE-CERTED (Search the forums for how to do this if it's not already done) 3) Copy the cert.cab from the add on to your phone and run it. 4) Now run NBFTools - load the older nbf, right click on the SPL and emergency flash it. 5) Now you can flash your phone again. Running the (Orange UK 4.1.1.4) flash package worked fine for me.

I tried all that above but kept getting error 260. Then I remembered. If you change the header in NBFTool and re-flash, you have to take the checks out of the utility.exe program as it states in spv-developers.com. You also have to do the above. But once all this is done you will see the progress bar and the phone will boot back into 4.1.1.4 rom. ALL TOMTOM users will be happy! Also look at the mobismart.net forum for error 260.
Guest Viama Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 Thank the maker. It works! Note to self: Next time, let others become guinea pigs.

Guest k-weil Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 I tried to use the tool with a dutch Rom but it failed. Is it only made for french Roms? How can I downgrade to the older dutch or english rom? Can someone post the link to the old dutch rom?
