Guest Jay247 Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 I've got an XdaIIs on O2, and everything seems to be working fine so far. I can sync via WiFi and check my POP3 email as well as browse the net. However, when I try to check my POP3 email without being connected to my WiFi network, the phone attemps to make a GRPS connection - and then tells me that I should check my server settings. GPRS seems to be working OK though, because once a connection is established, I can surf the web fine. I get the same error message when I check my email via CSD. Back on WiFi things are working fine with those server settings. Any ideas?
Guest rickyburke Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 When it says check server settings, i assume it means your email server settings, try sending an email as well as downloading one, and check the smtp and pop servers are correctly entered.

Contact the technical department of o2 to confirm this. If you are on contract you usually have to pay a bit extra for full access and its not available at all on payg!!
Guest Jay247 Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Thanks mr_end, that makes perfect sense, I was thinking of that as well. My server settings are definitely correct, and internet works via GPRS. I'll give them a ring and will report back on their diagnosis and prices. I've sussed the problem for now with my old Virgin Dial-Up account. It's an 0845 number, which comes out of my free minutes package and works fine.
Guest mrtomuk Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 I was happily checking my POP3 email accounts a few days ago using GPRS. However since yesterday when I check them, it connects, says sending/receiving and that there are 0 new messages. No error messages. However I know there are messages waiting and when I check using my normal PC there were plenty of messages (i am so popular! not) Why isn't the M2000 reteiving them> any ideas?
