Deleting multiple messages

Is it possible to delete multiple messages from either email folders or sms folders, other than one at a time? Had a quick search on here and it suggests not.

Standard feature is delete one or delete all. Go into inbox>menu>folders then highlight folder then menu>clear messages

Sure I looked at that before. Ok I can do it for texts, can it be done for emails?

It just says Hide unused folders or Manage folders.
