I would give the stable betaplayer a try (many, many codecs incl. aac & wma) it even got a equalizer!. Furthermore you can use pocketmusic who has also an equalizer and even a superbass function (new 2.0 player also offers wma support).

There are more players on the market for smartphones, but if you got one of these players you dont need any of them! Betaplayer is als for free!

Sorry to hijack this a bt, but I've got Betaplayer and can't find the codec for WMA can you point me in the right direction?

I think it is included in the stable 0.5 release, if you haven't got that yet you should. Also I hear it won't play .wmas if you have wmp10 installed so that could be your problem.

Yup I've got the latest Betaplayer installed, I just downloaded it off their site. I've not got WMP 10 on either PC or phone and the phone is running SP2002. When I look at betaplayers supported file types it doesn't list WMA.

Mmm ok maybe it can only play wmas on sphone 2003??? Just guessing?? Have you tried opening a wma with it using a file explorer?

Hi - i downloaded the stable version of betapplayer yesterday and the plugins to match. It does seem stable enough although when i select the equaliser it doesnt open an equaliser, it just places a tick next to the menu option with no discernable enhancement or otherwise to the sound. Is this right or should i be getting an equaliser window with settings to change?

Also, the main portion of the screen is just black when playing audio - is this also right??

Cheers

ps - i much prefferred pocketmusic in terms of look, functionality (equaliser and bass as mentioned before) and especially the sound quality. The only trouble with this being that it isnt free  and the trial version i have often starts 'stuttering' when trying to play a song and is difficult to stop once this happens. Doesnt exactly fill me with confidence about shelling out any money for the product - does anybody have any favourable reports of the retail version / or experience of the stuttering problem?

You turned the equalizer on, but to set it goto Options - Settings... - Select Page - Equalizer. Not exactly what you would expect, but it's there. As for the middle of the screen, yes it's just black when playing audio files. Its a media player, not just audio. Try out some video clips and you will see Betaplayer shine.

I never got PocketMusic Demo to work right on my phone, so I couldn't justify the cost. It does look like a nice audio player, but then I still need Betaplayer to watch videos. So I just gave up trying.
