AotW: SmartphoneNotes

This week's app is SmartphoneNotes from SyncData, an application that I personally find invaluable!

You'll find details of the application below, and we've tracked down SyncData main man Giuseppe Govi to give us the lowdown ;)

Hi Giuseppe and thanks for speaking to MoDaCo! Please introduce yourself!

Hi Paul, many thanks for inviting me. I'm Giuseppe Govi, from Turin, Italy.

After many years of work as project manager for an industrial automation multinational company, in 2001 I decided to start my own company, Syncdata.

Describe SmartphoneNotes in your own words

SmartphoneNotes adds a missing piece in the Pocket Outlook suite included in all Smartphones: synchronization with Outlook notes. Our solution includes both the ActiveSync provider and a phone application to create, edit and manage notes.

One of the key features of the phone application is the ability to automatically detect an internet url, an email address or a phone number inside the text of a note, and highlight them as hyperlinks that users can simply click, like they would do on a web page.

What makes SmartphoneNotes  worth buying above other Smartphone applications?

If you are after a text notes application highly integrated in the Smartphone platform, with hyperlinks, SMS and email,  Outlook Activesync support and at reasonable price, then I think that Smartphonenotes can hardly be beaten.

What can we expect to see next from Syncdata?

We are working hard to port all of our applications to the next Windows Mobile version. We are also working on the new SmartphoneNotes version; there is a little delay on our planned release schedule, but since this will be a major release with many changes to the original code we must be absolutely certain that there are no problems for the release. ;)

If you would like to check out SmartphoneNotes, visit the SyncData home page. SmartphoneNotes is a vital part of my synchronisation jigsaw... now if only it could OTA sync with Exchange... ;)
