Guest sidebp Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Hi, I'm on contract 02 and have had my c500 since Christmas but no matter how many settings I try I cant get media messaging to work - attempting to send a message i just get a failed message. If I receive a message I just get a text message from O2_alert telling me I have a new message and to login to O2.co.uk/m to retrieve it. This isnt a problem in so much as I can use GPRS and Internet Explorer to view the message, but its a pain in the backside! I've tried every set of settings on here and am just about to give up.... any ideas? links to an O2 contract cab file? Cheers.
Guest Disco Stu Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Have you tried giving o2 CS a call to see if this servive is enabled on your account ?
Guest mr_end Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 O2 (contract) Start > Settings > Data Connections Menu > Edit Connections Add the following connections... Dial Up connection Phone Number: 447712927927 User name: 02wap Password: password GPRS Internet service Access point: mobile.o2.co.uk Username: o2web Password: password GPRS WAP service Access point: wap.o2.co.uk Username: o2wap Password: password WAP proxy server Proxy: 193.113.200.195 leave rest blank GPRS MMS service Access Point: wap.o2.co.uk Username: o2wap Password: password Primary DNS: 193.113.200.195 Then go to Inbox > Menu > Options >Account Setup > MMS Download Messages: Auto Outgoing msg size: less than 100k Allowed types: personal Then in that screen Menu > Edit Connections Edit your mms connection to the following... Description: o2 Mmsc Address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002 Data Connection: MMS Network Gateway: WAP 1.0 IP Address: 193.113.200.195 Port: 9201 Hope this helps. I am on payg so had to guess the settings slightly for some contract parts. MMS Should work perfectly though at that Tell me how you get on.
Guest pete_thomson Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Have you tried giving o2 CS a call to see if this servive is enabled on your account ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> THis would be my guess. I used to be on O2 contract and MMS was not enabled, that's how they knew to send me a SMS with a link. Once I had my MMS enabled, I'd get the indicator telling me I had an MMS, but until I configed my phone correctly, I couldn't actually get at them.

I think it may be that the MMS service isnt enabled for me. I have contacted O2 and will post the outcome here (hopefully, shortly!)!

Or maybe not. Happened to me and my girlfriend when we got our SPV ;)
