Guest xspyda Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Is anyone aware of any software that will allow you to view the C500 from within Windows as a removable storage device? I know it can be accessed through the PC using Activesync, but I need a solution to allow the device to be listed in Windows Explorer and all apps. as if it was a removable hard drive. Thanks.
Guest squall Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 afraid its not possible. I hope this is looked at with future phones !
Guest Arisme Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 I think I've seen somewhere it'll be a standard for Windows Mobile 5
Guest xspyda Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 I thought the question was rather optimistic! Thanks anyway ...
Guest brykins Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 afraid its not possible. Is that because the software isn't there, or because the hardware isn't capable of it? I assume that it's because the USB is a slave port only, so software can't be run on the C500 to "see" the dekstop PC, right? If that's the case, would there be anything stopping someone developing a small desktop driver that I could install on the four or five PC's that I would want to connect my phone to, to enable them to "see" the C500 as a drive?
Guest AngelOfRage Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 This would certainly be a usefull appliation to have. Im sure ive seen Digi Cameras that have a function along these lines, you plug the camera in via USB and it shows as a removable drive (juts like if you plugged a card reader in) I wonder if they could do it with Bluetooth? Bluetooth removable storage sounds yummy...
Guest squall Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 its a hardware thing, but from what ive heard about new smartphone devices most (if not all) will be usb storage devices.
