Guest Paul [MVP] Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 There are a whole host of Windows Mobile 5 resources to be found at the Microsoft site! The umbrella site (the Windows Mobile Press Center) can be found here. Particular points of interest include: - View the Bill Gates Keynote Webcast - Learn More About Windows Mobile 5.0 - See Screenshots of Windows Mobile 5.0 Software The screenshots one is particularly worth a visit ;) P
Guest Y-Wing Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Check this out (from http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2...10MEDC05QS.asp) Mobile Operators Orange "Orange is looking forward to launching the new Windows Mobile platform across a range of attractive devices in 2005. The key benefits to customers and to Orange will be an enhanced phone experience, increased customization possibilities, as well as improved overall performance." -- Florian Seiche, Director of Devices, Orange Group T-Mobile "Windows Mobile 5.0 represents a significant update to the Windows Mobile software platform and helps us better address key areas such as multimedia and mobile business applications. The new software caps a successful collaboration between T-Mobile and Microsoft over the last few years, and we look forward to furthering this effort as we bring differentiated devices and services to our customers."
Guest Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 The new screenshots look nice. I like ther picture ID, seems much more integrated rather than the current IA Caller ID that just throws a picture up there and covers the name of the caller. I'm assuming the phone dialler screenshots are for use with a stylus so won't be applicable to a Smartphone. Nice qVGA graphics tho. Having said that there are still a lot of outstanding issues from 2003se (why can't you easily bluetooth a contact, why does setting the alarm take so many key presses?) so lets hope they make a concerted effort to fix existing problems rather than just throwing a lot of new stuff into the mix. Will be interesting to see how this pans out. Windows Mobile seems to be really ramping up now though ;)
Guest Jakob Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Am I the only one that thinks the green background of the Windows Mobile 5 add looks resembles the looks of the new Xbox? /J
