Guest djpfine Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 I have a SMT5600 with no miniSD card, so all of my programs are currently stored on the phone's memory. Once my miniSD card comes in, I plan on moving as many programs as I can to the SD card to free up some internal space. Is there an easy way to move programs, or do I have to manually reinstall everything I have to the SD card? I'm also asking this because I plan on upgrading to a 1gb card soon, and would like to know if you have to keep reinstalling software everytime you change cards. Also, can all programs be run on the SD card, or are there some that work only within the phone's memory? Thanks
Guest squall Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 it would be best to hard reset then install everything to the sd card as installing to much to the phones memory will slow it down. You can copy the files from one sd card to another without having to reinstall everything

At least I'll only have to go through the reinstall process once when I move to my first SD card. Aside from trial and error, is there any way to tell which apps work and don't work from SD?

Aside from trial and error, is there any way to tell which apps work and don't work from SD? Most apps can be installed to ard. The only one I can think of that can't is xbar because it needs to be loaded at boot.

I'm dreading the thought of setting everything up again...GPRS, email, homescreens...it's gonna be chaos when the SD card comes in ;)

I am running xbar from sd card w/o any problems.
Guest Sedul Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Kinda sidetrack, but by Phoen memeory you guys are referring to \Storage folder whatever memory is on your phone for installing apps and stuff. \Storage card is the miniSD. I was just wondering if any of you tried syncing music from Windows media player 10 to your smartphone when it DOESN'T have a Storage Card. It doesn't seem to see \Storage Folder where I have like 8 megs free... I guess this won't be a problem after ig et my miniSD
