Multiple Key Press

Hi,

Is there any way to get the c500 to deal with multiple key press? I was trying to play Jet Set Willy on the two spectrum emulators that I have but I cant press left/right and jump at the same time. Also Duke 3D wont let you shoot and move. Any ideas if there is something stopping this that can be unlocked?
