I can not remember on the old version but I think not from memory (as it's been a while since I last used it) but the new version you can have it set up to display speed etc.

Yes there is.

In v4.43, from the main display, press 5,6,6,1 which takes you to 'Configure GPS'.

Your speed is on the right hand side of the display. You can't show it on the map though which is a shame. ;)

I do this sometimes. Pretty pointless though as you can't see the map. Hopefully in version 5 there will be a fix?

I presumed the initial question was about having the speed displayed on the main map whilst driving hence my answer.
