I was sent an AMR audio file today and was disapointed to find I couldn't play it. Is there some software that supports this file type or is there an application that can be installed on the phone for changing formats locally? This would be really handy.

thanks

Someone else on the forum suggested PV Player can deal with amr files, but I haven't got one handy to try.

Dude, I haven't a clue what I'm on about.

Seriously though, tried PV Player, couldn't get it to do anything.

When you're in a room full of Motorola's and nokia's and someone is BT ing files around you want to be able to play the tune there and then, not wait until you get home.

No it was just a new text message tone that shouts and swears at you. You wouldn't want to have it set whilst visiting the mother-in-law.

Cant play amr files using PV Player.

You can just convert the amr to wav. There is a freeware converter for that task: Miksoft Mobile AMR Converter.

cheers pzee. I found that last night and it's a nice simple, "does what it say's on the box" type application.

There is a workaround to play amr files in c500 without converting it into wav.

i use to do it in imate sp2 (E200).

open the mms composer and add the amr file.

preview the mms.
