Application unlock before upgrade to WM2003?

Seeing as the WM2003 thread is now locked, I guess a new (but hopefully shorter) thread is necessary for this question:

Is it necessary to application unlock the MPX200 before upgrading to WM2003?

I'm having difficulty unlocking my handset OTA, which is odd - because it worked fine before.

Just to inform that the 2003 rom is locked too.

I updated my mpx200 to windows2003 and it remains locked.

Still dont know how to unlock it and none of the free ways to do it work until now.... bu i accept suggestions.

2003 is SIM locked as that's another matter and not ROM related but 2003 is not application locked.

Ther has never been a free way to SIM unlock the MPX200 there are a few sites offering this service.

WM2003 is Application Unlocked, maybe what your saying is that your phone is "Network locked"
