Guest Neildw Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 Hi All, Will there be a version of Windows Mobile 5 for Smartphone. What I understand is that it’s going to be 1 OS for all MS Mobile Devices. And will it work on an I-Mate SP3 Thanks Neil (South Africa)
Guest dcollins Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 I heard that there were WM5.0 ROMS for the SP3, and if you look at the Bill Gates keynote from MEDC 2005, at 51.24, the guy running the demo nudges his demo phone and you can just see the "SP3" above the screen. However, HTC and the networks are unlikely to offer the update to the public, because they want us all to buy new phones. Dec Hi All, Will there be a version of Windows Mobile 5 for Smartphone. Guest extravagant Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 I'm sure the ROM will be up on IRC XDCC / Torrent sites, if u want to take the risk of executing it, first we'll see what everyone does when they install it. I mean, why buy a new phone wheres the innovation on the C550?
Guest nedge2k Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 First off...talk of warez or pointing people in the direction of warez is forbidden on this site. Secondly, no WM5 will neve officially be available for current devices. Yes the upgrade for typhoon and mpx200 devices does exist but the public will never see it (and that includes leaks).

Nedge, what makes you so certain? You're probably right but how can you say with such certainty? Do you know something we don't? If it exists then there is a chance that someone will release it and if one operator does the others would be tempted to follow suit surely?
