Guest Skyliner34 Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 (edited) Hi, I have just brought a original SPV V1.6.1 and I have a few questions: 1.How do I change the background on the home screen to my own picture other than the ones that come with it, like Camper van, Luna....... 2.What does the big G in a square box at the top of my screen mean? 3.I have this number '1' at the top of screen next to the battery, what does that mean? 4. How do I setup MMS on my phone, at the home screen it says (MMS: ), theres no number after it like the SMS and E-mail. Thanks Sky Edited May 13, 2005 by Skyliner34
Guest martin Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 Skyliner34 1.The image files must be placed in Storage/Application Data/Home. Homescreens are usually contained in a self installing cab file. See the first 48 hours topic for more information on cab files. http://www.modaco.com/First_48_Hours_with_...one-t89276.html 2.The top centre G indicates a successful GPRS attach on startup. It's very similar to a GSM VLR attach where the network name appears on your phone. Just as a VLR attach does not mean you are in a voice call, the GPRS attach does not mean you are transferring data. 3.It means line 1. You can swap between line 1 and line 2 by holding down the # key. 4. It depends which network you are on but you usually need to create a GPRS connection for MMS (in Settings-Data connections) and then complete the MMS data (in Accessories- MMS setup).

All the settings in data connections and MMS setup are all present and correct. Will a numbr show up on the home screen if I received a MMS message? Thanks Sky
Guest martin Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 You should get a notification when you receive an MMS message. Have yout tried sending a test MMS to yourself ?

Guest martin Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 I don't think so as you pay for the download of each MMS message.
Guest Skyliner34 Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 On the message subject, is there a way to get my SPV to say you have a new message when I receive one. At the moment it shows a number in the SMS bit of the homescreen. It would be nice to have a screen to tell me also. Thanks Sky

Open IA Album/Photo 2. Select any pics you like, edit... 3. Select: Menu > Set Home Screen ;) Note: In order to have a better view of the pics, you must set your Home Screen Layout to SIMPLE. Programs > Settings > Home Screen > Home Screen Layout > Simple
