E200 won't take a charge

Can anyone help me? My E200 had been working fine, and this particular day, it being dead I decided to recharge it. I plugged it into the activesync cable and the first thing I noticed was that instead of the orange recharge led, it was showing a bright red led tha was flashing at a rate of knots. This slowed until eventually it remained stable and finally went out. However still it would not turn on. I have attempted hard resets, battery removal, and even put it in the fridge to try and 'fool' any memory that it had. (old trick used on various items years back) Now if it is left unplugged for a while, then plugged back in, the same sequence happens. Has my E200 finally met it's maker, or is it just something silly like a dead battery? :oops:

Hi there,

I had a similar problem with my E200, didn't get any flashing lights etc but it just wouldn't charge.

Turned out that there was a problem with the connection at the base of the E200 and Orange replaced the unit for me.

Basically, think your connection might be buggered, if you've got insurance, give 150 a ring and ask for a replacement....

Elvie, thanks for the advise. I read an earlier thread and had to search for my mains p/s. have since plugged it in and hey presto it is fine. Has saved me the hassle of getting another one on ebay to replace it, as the phone was well out of warranty. Again thanks for your help.
