Guest Disco Stu Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 Specifically for me, Virtual Pool Mobile. The graphics are suddenly jerky after finally installing the ROM at the weekend. Memory available is sufficient and I've tried reinstalling the game. Anyone else had troubles of this kind ?

Guest Disco Stu Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Several times - also tried manually adjusting memory allocation but no go. Celeris suggested I contact i-Mate to see if they are aware of any issues.
Guest Disco Stu Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 So after several reinstallations and the above Celeris sent me the Smartphone version in error. Not noticing I tried to install it. Decided not worth trying to get a response from i-Mate and would put up with jerkiness. Reinstalled original version and it now works perfectly again. &
Guest SystemicAnomaly Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 That's good to hear! This is the first game i'm gonna buy as soon as my i make jam arrives...
Guest jfran Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 I am not impressed stu, thought you would have noticed that error earlier ;) jim
Guest Disco Stu Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Yeah but no but... Contacted Celeris to let then kinow and their response was that VPM was probably conflicting with something else and therefore the problem would most likely crop up again. Lo and behold.....they jinxed it ! Now, what have I installed since doing the upate ? Sprite. I'm guessing that the Today screen plugin with battery, storage monitors etc is the culprit. Shame as it's quite a nice one but looks like I'll be going back to Spb. Will report back later. Oh, and SystemicAnomaly : don't let this put you off buying the game. I've been playing it for months and this is the first thing to go wrong.

I just bought it and I think I can claim the cash back if I'm not happy. If it is screwing the system up I'll ask for my cash back. ;) Thanks, Greg
Guest Disco Stu Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 I wouldn't go that far. Sprite Backup is top quality backup / restore software. Used it with Smartphones and now Pocket PCs and I'd recommend it unreservedly. With the PPC version you also get SpriteMon - a Today screen plugin with battery & memory (etc) monitors - and Space Detective - a stats & cleanup utility. It was SpriteMon that was affecting VPM so I have gone back to using Spb Pocket Plus.
