Guest fraser Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 As subject says, MS have removed remote sync from version 4 of ActiveSync. They want you to pay for their Mobile Server product instead. This means that if you use WiFi to sync you are boned. Looks like I'm stuck on v3. What's the deal with that company? Money grabbing gits with NO respect for customers. And they wonder why they have such a bad PR image? Spending a fortune on fancy "we are the world" adverts ain't going to change the fact your company has the bad image it so rightly deserves. Not impressed at all. Unfortunately this seems to be the way the world is going; each subsequent release of a product seems to have less features rather than more, either due to profitering or legal liability. It's OSS for me methinks, at least they seem to progress things for everyones benefit rather than just the shareholders! Shareholders don't care about the long-term for a company generally, so annoying and losing users is no real concern to them.
