SMT5600 with prepay?

I live in the United States, so I have phone companies like cingular and tmobile. I just got off of a 1 year contract with cingular and my mom ended up paying for the monthly bill about 4 times (I'm 13...40 dollars a month is hard for me to make). Tmobile has a prepaid simcard that you can buy on ebay for 1.00$ (its legit, my friend bought one). Tmobile uses gsm network but I dont know how well some of the features will work on the smt5600 (us version of c500). Im already going to unlock it as soon as it comes in the mail, but if you people could tell me some of the things that will work and wont work i would be really greatful. Like the internet....msn messenger. Completely clueless for that because its prepay.
