Guest feeta Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 Hi there, I brought myself a JAM today, should be here on monday. I have a few questions though. Firstly, is there such thing as a wifi card that allows you to slot a SD card into it? Therefore, allowing an SD card to be inserted as well as using wifi. Secondly, is there a way I can set up my JAM so that when i connect it to a PC using USB, the PC recoginses it as a removeable drive. This would allow storage on the SD card rather than just having to use the active sync. Thanks for any help. Feeta ;)
Guest Disco Stu Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 MoDaCo Shop has SD with WiFi I believe. http://www.smesolutions.co.uk/modaco/pages...disk_sdwifi.htm ;)
Guest MitchellO Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 In response to your 2nd question, you can't use the PPC as a removeable drive. No software to do it.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 Check out the awesome SD card WiFi at http://www.EastGear.com ;) P
Guest bill door Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Your PPC will appear in my computer and you can access the sd card through windows explorer. Although I have to say if you have USB2 on your computer you're by far and away better off using a USB2 card reader as it will be incredibly sloooow writing stuff to the card whilst its still in your JAM.
Guest feeta Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 Hi all, thanks for your replies. I knew of those standard SD cards, Wifi cards and also wifi with SD cards, but what I was wondering is if there is any wifi card that allows me to slot a seperate SD card into it. ie, I can keep wifi in all the time and swap around the SD cards. I don't think there is but I may be wrong! For the storage, I currently have a C500 and know about it appearing in the My Comuter, the thing is though, that it only appears if you have active synced it etc. By what I said, I was meaning is there a way to sort of use it on any machine as you would be able to with a USB stick. Ok, well thanks for all your help, no doubt I'll be asking more soon! Cheers, Feeta ;)
