Media Player 10 skins?

Hi - how do i install skins for media player 10? there is an option in the program to select skins so im hoping i wont have to edit the registry as some other posts ive read say, and that was only required for media player 9. I have placed a 'skin' (.skn file and related .gif's) in the application data\microsoft\media player folder which is where the default media player .skn file is and have rebooted the phone but it is not available in the skin selection option.
