Partnership problem

Hi guys,

I 'formatted' my phone or what ever it is called, restored factory settings i guess you could say.

Now when i connect my phone to the computer i am prompted to create a new partnership, this is ok however when i try to name the partnership to the previous name i gat an error saying that the partnership name cannot be chosen as it is allready in use.

to top it off my bluetooth is now the partnership name, i have changed the name under BT Settings however this has no affect.

Any help on either would really be appreciated

It happened to me before. What I did was to rename data folder in:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\Partners\ ...of my PC.

ffffffff was for Guest partnership

0a057fac was for the Standard partnership (folder assignment varies) containing display name 'GPC' ;)

Gosh! I was just going to say to give it a different a different partnership nam as the partnership name is stored on your PC somewhere in the registry but as pzee has told you how to correct it properly I won't bother now.....

Now I know where they're stored maybe I'll clear up some of the old partnershps on my PC - cheers pzee ;)

Worked perfectly now i can have the partnership name i like, as for bluetooth i will test tomorrow with a mates phone
